Apple a anunţat la WWDC 2015 că va avea propriul limbaj de programare pentru iOS. Acesta poartă numele de Swift si este un limbaj open source pentru dezvoltarea aplicaţiilor pentrz iOS, OS X, şi watchOS.

Compania spune că scrierea codurilor Swift va fi interactivă si distractivă. Sintaxa este concisă şi expresivă iar codurile vor fi scrise impreuna cu objective C.
