Twitter accidentally collected and shared location data of some users

The company announced that they have encountered a bug with their system that accidentally collected and shared location data on iOS devices with one of their “trusted partners”. Twitter said the bug only occurred on its iOS app where users added a second account on their phones.

WhatsApp vulnerability allowed hackers to install spyware

The malicious code, developed by Israeli company NSO Group, was installed on both iPhones and Android phones through the app’s phone call feature. The spyware could be transmitted even if the target victim didn’t answer their phone, and the calls often disappeared from users’ call logs.

Lenovo unveiled a laptop with a foldable screen

Lenovo has been developing the laptop for over three years and has plans to launch a finished device in 2020 as part of its premium ThinkPad X1 brand. The company hasn’t give its prototype an official name yet.

Microsoft will spend $100M to open its first development center in Africa

Initial sites will be in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, and Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub. Microsoft plans to hire 100 full-time developers at the two sites by the end of this year and expand to 500 by the end of 2023.
