Huawei will stop producing Kirin chipsets on September 15
Huawei said production of its smartphone chips would stop in September due to US sanctions. Those restrictions were tightened in May when the White House barred vendors worldwide from using U.S. technology to produce components for Huawei.

Twitter and TikTok are in talks for possible merger
Twitter has held “preliminary talks” about a possible union with TikTok’s US business. The value of TikTok’s US operations are unclear but estimates put it at tens of billions of dollars.

Toshiba officially quits the laptop business and sold the remaining stake of its PC business to Sharp

Capital One will pay an $80 million fine for 2019 hack that exposed 100 million accounts
Capital One agreed to pay $80 million in penalties and improve its cybersecurity practices to resolve probes into last year’s hack. More than 100 million accounts were exposed in the cyberattack, which was allegedly carried out by a single individual.
