Apple plans to launch the first AR headset in 2022, followed by AR glasses in 2023
Apple Vice President Mike Rockwell, who heads the team responsible for Apple’s AR discussed new details about the design and features of the AR headset that’s slated for 2022 and showed off the development timeline for both of the devices. According to the sources, employees were told that the firm would be contacting developers in 2021 to help build third-party software for the platform.

Google Chrome will identify and label slow websites
A new badge could appear in the future that’s designed to highlight sites that are “authored in a way that makes them slow generally”. Google will look at historical load latencies, and the team is also exploring identifying sites that will load slowly based on device hardware or network connectivity.

Facebook will allow users to customize the toolbar and hide notification dots
The company has confirmed that it’s rolling out a Shortcut Bar Settings feature on iOS (coming to Android in the weeks ahead) that gives users control over the notifications they get within the app. Facebook has been working on better personalizing the navigation bar since August last year.

Microsoft plans to discontinue the Skype Translator bot
The Skype Translator Bot will be replaced by a new Translated Conversations feature that Microsoft is building into Skype consumer. Languages currently supported in Translated Conversations include Chinese (simplified and traditional); English (UK), English (US), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
