The acquisition of Harman International Industries is the biggest in the history of Samsung. Dinesh Paliwal, the President of Harman said that Samsung will provide Harman a platform, various technologies and a scale to accelerate their growth. This way, both the companies will also be able to extend their global market leadership in the automotive and smart audio technologies.

Google Launches a “Digital Taste Test” with #myAndroid
The #myAndroid Taste Test asks you a series of questions on what you prefer. The quiz takes no more than a few minutes to answer, and most of the questions only require you to pick between two options. The ultimate goal is to help you customize your phone with new wallpapers, icon packs, and more.

Intel Security has released a detection tool for EFI rootkits
Intel Security has released a tool that allows users to check if their computer’s low-level system firmware has been modified and contains unauthorized code. The release comes after CIA documents leaked revealed that the agency has developed EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface) rootkits for Apple’s Macbooks.

Microsoft is adding Playable Ads to Windows 10
Playable Ads will let users try a Windows 10 app before they decide to download. It will stream the full app to the users via the ad, which will let them to use the app as if it was installed in their PC or laptop. The stream will last for three minutes to give them the time to decide whether or not they want to download it.

Sony has developer a projector that turns any tabletop into a touch-sensitive display
The “Interactive Tabletop” concept uses depth sensors and motion tracking to know when objects are placed on the table and even bring storybooks to life. Sony said that these type of projects are only prototypes, so it’s unclear when we may see this make its way to classrooms or in the form of a consumer product.
