IBM launches IBM Z, a mainframe that’s capable of 12 billion encrypted transactions a day
The IBM Z mainframe computer will be able to encrypt all of the data in an enterprise all of the time, bringing encryption to everything from cloud services to databases. The general purpose of IBM Z is to encrypt all data all the time and reduce the attack surface for enterprises about 92 percent. “We think this will be broadly adopted across financial services, government, retail and travel and transportation,” said Ross Mauri, general manager of IBM Z.

Facebook unveiled Explore Feed, a new way to discover information
With Explore Feed, the goal is to connect users to Facebook’s broader network of news and information. The feed itself consists of posts, articles, photos and videos from sources users haven’t yet followed, like Facebook Pages or posts from news organizations. The “Explore Feed” is accompanied by an icon with a rocket and is currently available under Facebook’s “More” menu.

The phone will have a Snapdragon 625 processor and a 5.5-inch Full HD display. It will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

Meizu Pro 7
The phone will be officially launched on July 26 and will have a secondary screen that is present at the rear panel of the Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus. The secondary screen will show notifications for missed calls, SMS, chat messages along with date and time.

Mageia 6 is available for download
Mageia 6 can be downloaded with several desktop environments: NOME (3.24.2), KDE Plasma (5.8.7), Xfce (4.12.1), Cinnamon (3.2.8), MATE (1.18), and LXQt (0.11). It comes with a modern version of the Linux kernel, 4.9.35, and LibreOffice 5.3.4.2. It has two web browsers included by default: Firefox 52.2.0 ESR and Chromium 57.

Researchers developed silicon electronics that can dissolve into the body
A group of scientists from California have developed a series of organic electronic components that will harmlessly dissolve into their environment after use. While the organic electronic circuits are made from iron the thin film substrate was developed from cellulose. This allows the electronics to be worn on the skin and potentially implanted inside the body, subject to further testing.

Lenovo will make an augmented reality headset for ‘Star Wars’ games
Disney announced that it’s making an augmented reality headset with help from hardware manufacturer Lenovo. It’s designed specifically with Star Wars experiences in mind. There’s still plenty of mystery around the device. It still has no release date and it is unclear whether the headset will be compatible with other AR or VR experiences.
