WhatsApp was given a one-month ultimatum to stop sharing user data with Facebook
The Chair of the National Data Protection Commission (CNIL) in France has issued a formal notice to WhatsApp, asking the messaging app to stop sharing user data with the Facebook within a month. The decision comes a year after European Union privacy authorities said they had “serious concerns” about the sharing of WhatsApp user data for purposes that weren’t included in the terms of service and privacy policy when people signed up to the service.

Kaspersky sues US government over federal software ban
Kaspersky Lab contests the decision of US government to ban its software over the potential for Russian influence. The security firm has sued the Trump administration to challenge the ban, arguing that the Department of Homeland Security’s September directive didn’t provide “due process” and unfairly tarnished the company’s reputation.
