Google launched a new educational site called “Learn with Google AI“
On the new site people can “learn about core machine learning concepts, develop and hone machine learning skills, and apply machine learning to real-world problems.” Learn with Google AI is technical in nature, but it is intended to be a resource for everyone, from advanced researchers to beginners. There is also a 15-hour course online for free about machine learning. Google emphasizes that the course can be taken and understood by anyone, but to really get the most out of it people should understand intro-level algebra and have some basic programming ability.

Twitter launched Bookmarks so that users can save tweets
Users will be able to privately bookmark tweets to save and read later. Until now, the easiest way to save a tweet was to Like it by tapping on the heart icon beneath a tweet. But that was inconvenient for two reasons: People can see public Likes and some perceive the action as explicitly an endorsement, rather than a bookmarking tool.

Microsoft said it will buy solar power from the Sunseap Group in Singapore
The value of Microsoft’s investment was not disclosed, but an announcement said it will create “the single-largest solar energy portfolio in Singapore to date”. During the 20-year agreement, Microsoft will buy 100% of the renewable energy that the solar project exports to the grid.

Amazon acquired smart doorbell maker Ring
Amazon is expected to keep Ring as an independent business, much like it has with its other acquisitions, like Zappos and Twitch, according to GeekWire. Amazon’s spokesperson confirmed the deal, saying: “Ring’s home security products and services have delighted customers since day one. We’re excited to work with this talented team”.

Haier’s Asu smartwatch has a projector that uses the hand as the screen
The new Asu Smartwatch is boxy, bulky and has a tiny projector. It comes with one gigabyte of memory inside and it’s powered by a 1.2GHz processor. Other features include a heart-rate sensor, GPS, 4G LTE support and a gyroscope.
