MyHeritage unveiled an AI called Deep Nostalgia that can animate faces in still photos
MyHeritage, a website where users can research their family trees, has announced a feature that uses video reenactment technology to turn a photo into a video where they can smile, nod and wink. Deep Nostalgia, licensed from the AI face platform D-ID, uses pre-recorded videos prepared by MyHeritage. The pre-recorded videos that create the deepfake videos direct the movements in the animation.

LastPass for Android contains seven trackers
All of the Google trackers are for analytics and crash reporting, but two of them (MixPanel and Segment) also cover user profiling and advertisements. So as the LastPass app is being used, data is gathered for marketing purposes and a profile of the user is constructed. LastPass’ spokesperson says that all of the trackers serve to improve the user experience and promises that they don’t send out sensitive user information.

A bug prevents M1 Macs from downloading iOS apps
Apple’s M1 Mac users have been complaining of being unable to download compatible iOS/iPadOS apps from the Mac App Store. The issue was confirmed by iOS developer Noah Evans, having tried to download three separate apps from Apple’s Mac App Store whilst operating on macOS Big Sur 11.2.1, the latest public version.

Siemens and IBM formed partnership to target edge computing and industrial IoT
Siemens said its MindSphere industrial IoT software will be built on IBM’s hybrid cloud platform including Red Hat OpenShift. IBM Global Business Services and Global Technology Services consultants will serve as a provider for managed 0services and IoT solutions for Siemens’ MindSphere customers.
