Nintendo has been ordered to pay $10 million in Wii patent lawsuit
Nintendo will pay $10 million to iLife Technologies, following a patent infringement lawsuit which accused the company of using iLife’s technology to build its motion-detecting Wii Remote. iLife originally sought $144 million in damages – $4 multiplied by 36 million Wii consoles sold – before the suit was filed, with an accompanying injunction preventing Nintendo’s use of the technology.

Samsung plans to test self-driving cars in California
Samsung got approval to test autonomous vehicles on state roads in California, according to the CA Department of Motor Vehicle’s website. Samsung joins companies such as Apple, Bosch, Delphi, NVIDIA and Waymo, as well as automakers like BMW, General Motors, and Volkswagen. The company has already revealed modified Hyundai cars, equipped with test hardware built by Samsung including sensors and AI-powered computer modules.

Lenovo Yoga 920
The Yoga 920 has a 13.9-inch IPS touchscreen which can be configured as Full HD or UHD resolution and a $1,330 starting price. It comes with far field microphone array that enables voice activation for Windows 10’s Cortana. As long as the Yoga 920 is plugged in, users can summon Cortana from as far as 13 feet away, even in sleep mode.

Facebook will use AI to correct skewed 360-degree photos
Facebook will be using deep neural networks to analyze 360-degree photos to fix the image orientation for a better viewing experience, especially in VR. It’s still in a research phase for now, but, judging by some of their early results the method looks pretty promising.

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update may arrive on October 17th
The Fall Creators Update will come with some big changes, including built-in AI to fight malware, new Cortana features and handwriting recognition. PC World reports that hardware partner Lenovo leaked a Windows 10 ship date of October 17th on a since-deleted product page for its upcoming two-in-one PC, the Miix 520.

Sanbot Nano robot powered by Amazon’s Alexa can controle lights in the home and order pizza
The 1 metre robot will go on sale in October for $2,800, and will be available in English and German. The main difference between the Nano and its predecessors is that it boasts Amazon Alexa integration. As such, you can use it to order food, shopping, and play music (via the speakers attached to the side of its head).
