UK’s National Cyber Security Centre has linked WannaCry ransomware to North Korea
U.K. security services has attributed last month’s wide-scale WannaCry ransomware ciberattack to the Lazarus Group, a hacking team that has been linked to the government of North Korea. The hackers used a piece of software developed by the NSA spy agency in the US to exploit vulnerabilities in the out-of-date Windows XP operating system still widely used despite no longer being supported by manufacturer Microsoft.

Apple and IKEA are creating an AR app
Michael Valdsgaard, IKEA’s digital transformation manager said “When we launch new products, they will come first in the AR app.” He added that Ikea is hoping to have 500-600 catalog items ready to view in 3D at launch. In the first version, customers will take photos of their homes and use the app to place images of IKEA products wherever they might want them.

EU is working on clear drone regulations
Right now, drone-related laws are different across EU countries such as France, Italy and Germany. The new regulations would create a common low-level airspace called the U-space that covers altitudes of up to 150 meters. The U-space will be governed by a system similar to existing air traffic control management.

Google is offering a free Google Home that comes with the purchase of a Pixel XL
Normally Google Home costs $129 on its own. To take advantage of this deal, users have to go to the Google Store and add both the Pixel XL and the Home into their cart. However, if they return the Pixel XL, they have to return the Home, too.

Emporio Armani will launch its first touch-screen smartwatch
The smartwatch is called the Emporio Armani Connected and will go on sale this September. The Emporio Armani Connected will have exclusive watch-faces and will also have eight different straps. Otherwise, the watch seems like a typical Android Wear 2.0 device.
