DuckDuckGo will launch a desktop browser
DuckDuckGo’s browser will have “robust privacy protection that works by default, across search, browsing, email, and more,” according to the company. CEO Gabriel Weinberg claimed that the browser will be “significantly faster” than Google’s browser, based on early tests.

EU has approved unconditionally Microsoft’s acquisition of Nuance
The European Commission said that the acquisition poses no competition concerns in the European Economic Area (EEA) and has therefore allowed it to go through. This acquisition of $16 billion for Nuance is the second-biggest for Microsoft after the $26.2 billion it paid for LinkedIn in 2016.

Google Voice added support for setting up custom call forwarding and screening ‘rules’
Google Voice users can configure the app to forward calls from either individual or groups of contacts to a linked phone number or the voicemail. Users can also set a rule that plays custom voicemail greetings for specific contacts.

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), which runs CES, reaffirmed its decision to host an in-person show in 2022. The event will take place from 5 January to 8 January.
