Microsoft, Intel, Adobe, ARM and BBC will create standards to fight misinformation
The companies will form the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), a joint project to fight disinformation and online content fraud. C2PA member organizations will work together to develop standards for certifying the source and history or provenance of media content.

Facebook will restore news in Australia after talks with the government
Australian politicians confirmed amendments will be added to the News Bargaining Code to “provide further clarity to digital platforms and news media businesses about the way the Code is intended to operate”. The amendments include a two-month mediation period, which will give the sides time to work out media deals that may mean Facebook doesn’t have to operate under the code.

Samsung will offer four years of security updates for the Galaxy phones and tablets
Usually, Android smartphones get about two major Android upgrades and 2-3 years worth of security updates. Samsung revealed that all Galaxy smartphones and tablets will receive security updates for a minimum of four years after their release, and the policy extends to devices from 2019.

Apple overtook Samsung as top smartphone vendor for the first time in four years
During the fourth quarter of 2020, Apple sold nearly 80 million units, surpassing all other smartphone makers, including Samsung, according to data released by market research company Gartner. Apple had 20.8% share of smartphones sold while Samsung had a 16.2% share.
