Google Hangouts will shut down in November
Google announced it would migrate Hangouts users to Google Chat. The company will start “warning its users at least one month” in advance about the imminent closure of the service. Hangouts will no longer be available after November 2022.

LG Electronics will bolster it position in the electric vehicle charging industry
LG acquired AppleMango, a South Korean company that developed an EV battery charger. The company’s new acquisition will expand its reach within the EV market, where the company already produces battery cells, electric motors, inverters, and more for various automakers.

Mobile World Congress will take place in Barcelona until 2030
The MWC was inaugurally held in Rome in 1990, and it moved from city to city every year, including Berlin, Lisbon, Athens, and Madrid. The event has been held in Barcelona since 2006, but the partnership was set to expire in 2024. Now, the organizers decided to extend the current contract by six years.

Danish job search company Jobindex filed an antitrust complaint against Google
Jobindex has submitted a complaint to the EU Commission, accusing Google of favoring its own job-search service in Denmark, called ‘Google for Jobs’. Jobindex believes that Google’s new service is distortive of competition and in violation of fundamental principles and rules.
