Amazon has announced a new system which uses the ‘palm signature’ for payments and authentication
Amazon One scanner registers an image of the user’s palm, letting them pay by hovering their hand in mid-air “for about a second or so”. The product will be trialled at two of Amazon’s physical stores in Seattle. The company also said it is “in active discussions with several potential customers” about rolling it out to other shops in the future.

Bing, PrivacyWall and Info.com will show up as search options on new Android devices in Europe
Google made this change in response to a 2018 European Union antitrust ruling, which fined the company €4.3 billion ($5 billion) after finding Google was illegally tying its Chrome browser and Google Search tools to the Android operating system in various ways. Microsoft’s Bing, Info.com and PrivacyWall were among the search engines that won the quarterly auction.

EU will reportedly approve Google’s acquisition of Fitbit
Google reiterated an earlier pledge not to use Fitbit health and wellness data for advertising, which it said it has now strengthened by providing for additional monitoring of the data separation requirements. It will also commit to support third-party wearable manufacturers and maintain third-parties’ existing access to Fitbit users’ data via APIs with user consent.
