Facebook Messenger will be available on the Oculus Quest platform
The company announced that Quest and Quest 2 users will now gain access to Messenger chats inside the app. Oculus said that Messenger on Oculus won’t affect Oculus’s privacy settings, keeping the two platforms separate. Late last year, Oculus made it mandatory for first-time users to log in with their Facebook account in preparation for the planned shutdown of support for all Oculus accounts by January 2023.

Nokia and Vodafone tested a new passive optical network (PON) technology capable of delivering speeds up to 100 Gb/s
The trial, which took place in Vodafone’s Eschborn lab in Germany, is the latest milestone in a long-standing collaboration between Vodafone and Nokia to accelerate the potential of fiber broadband. It also was the world’s first use of flexible rate transmission in a PON network.

Uber will acquire alcohol delivery service Drizly for $1.1 billion
The company will build Drizly’s marketplace directly into the Uber Eats app, though it will maintain Drizly as a standalone app offering as well, for the time being. The deal is expected to close within the first half of the year.
