Qualcomm sues Apple, alleging it shared chip code with Intel
Qualcomm is suing Apple for breach of contract around a reported failure to comply with the terms of a software license and sharing proprietary information with Intel. In its complaint, Qualcomm alleged that Apple didn’t separate engineers working with Qualcomm and Intel chips, and that the those working with Intel may have been given access to key information about its competitor’s technologies.

Google Issue Tracker bug database contains its own vulnerabilities
A security researcher has identified bugs in Google’s bug tracker platform Issue Tracker. Issue Tracker program is be used by external public and partner users who work with Google’s team on different projects. This program gives access control permissions to users so that they could find, create, view and modify issues for any project.

Logitech is creating a keyboard designed for virtual reality
Logitech unveiled the BRIDGE SDK that is designed to make it easier for developers to implement keyboard or text inputs into their VR apps. The kit, which costs $150 and is right now only designed for the HTC Vive, includes a Logitech G gaming keyboard, an accessory that helps correctly place the Vive Tracker on the keyboard, and the necessary software.

Some users are finding that their new Google Pixel 2 XL phones are arriving without an operating system installed, necessitating a return and replacement. The Android absence on a new phone is one among a series of problems with the Pixel 2 phones. One of those was the OLED screen burn-in, another one was reports of clicking sound from within the Pixel 2.

Google’s AI thinks that a turtle looks like a gun
Machine-learning-based image classifiers are vulnerable to “adversarial preturbations” where small, seemingly innocuous modifications to images (including very trivial ones) can totally confound them. Thus a 3D-printed sculpture of a turtle has been subjected to a tiny adversarial preturbation that tricked the InceptionV3 image classifier into thinking that it’s a rifle.
