Personal data of 533 million Facebook users was posted online
According to security researcher Alon Galata, data of 533 million Facebook users from 106 countries including phone numbers, Facebook IDs, full names, birth dates and other information have been posted online. Facebook said that this data was scraped because of a vulnerability that it fixed in 2019.

Google Play will limit apps from seeing what’s installed on devices
Google is limiting what apps can use the QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission that “gives visibility into the inventory of installed apps on a given device”. Once the change come into effect, apps can only use the permission if their “core user facing functionality or purpose, requires broad visibility into installed apps on the user’s device. These include device search apps, antivirus, file managers, and browsers.

LG is officially shutting down its mobile phone business
LG said that software updates and support for existing smartphone owners will continue for a “period of time”. The company will sell existing inventory of its devices and then focus on its other businesses like EV components, connected devices, smart homes, robotics, AI, and B2B solutions.

FBI and CISA warned that hackers are attacking Fortinet FortiOS servers
The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency have released a joint advisory warning that hacking groups are actively targeting vulnerabilities in the Fortinet FortiOS, affecting the company’s SSL VPN products. The two agencies claim that hacker may use these security bugs in the future to breach the networks of government, commercial, and technology services.
