The Bixby button can now be fully disabled
Samsung is launching an update that fully disables the Bixby button preventing it from waking up the device due to accidental presses. The button has been a subject of criticism ever since the launch of the Galaxy S8, and users have been using workarounds or hacks to disable the functionality right from the start before Samsung eventually counteracted them. In addition to the option to disable the Bixby button, the latest update also adds new features such as the ability to place calls with the voice assistant.

Broadcom may buy Qualcomm for $100 billion
Broadcom could be finalizing the biggest technology acquisition in history. The chipmaker is said to be planning a $100 billion bid for smartphone chip supplier Qualcomm. It is possible that the bid could be even higher. The bid comes as Broadcom plans to move its headquarters to the United States from Singapore.

Red Hat moved the OpenStack platform to containers
Red Hat launched version 12 of the OpenStack Platform. The update inclued the moving of all of the OpenStack platform to containers. Current Red Hat OpenStack Platform customers include companies like BBVA, FICO, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Verizon.

Netflix’s Android beta program on Google Play is open to the public
Last year, Netflix announced a beta channel release for its Android app. Within hours, the company has discontinued the signups for the beta program. Now, over a year and a half later, the program is available again. Everyone interested can again sign up to test the latest beta versions of the Netflix app for Android.

New Samsung Galaxy ad makes fun of iPhone X
In the ad, “Samsung Galaxy: Growing Up,” Samsung makes fun of Apple’s entire decade-long iPhone line. The spot centers around the iPhone’s lack of stylus support, as well as its need for dongles after the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack in the iPhone 7. The ad ends with the character’s decision to turn off his iPhone and purchase a Samsung Galaxy smartphone.
