Google will make passkeys the default sign-in method for all users
A passkey lets users sign in using a fingerprint, face scan, or the screen lock PIN. Passkeys are more secure because they remove the possibility of the password being stolen, both through hacking and through accidentally sharing it. Users can still choose to sign in to their Google account with passwords and can opt out of using passkeys entirely by disabling the “skip password when possible” option.

EU warned Elon Musk that ‘disinformation’ is spreading on X
EU Commissioner Thierry Breton sent Musk an “urgent” letter about the company’s handling of misinformation and its responsibilities under the Digital Services Act. The commissioner wrote that illegal content flagged by “relevant authorities” was still on the site, signifying that nothing had been done about it.

Adobe unveiled three new generative AI models
Adobe announced a new, more powerful Firefly Image 2 mode that’s said to be able to generate higher-quality images than the original Firefly model. There is also a new Firefly Vector model that can generate the vector graphics used by designers, and a Firefly Design model that can produce templates.

AMD will acquire AI software startup Nod.ai
Nod.ai has developed a software ecosystem of developer tools, libraries, and models that speed the deployment of AI solutions. AMD hasn’t disclosed the financial terms of its acquisition.
