Microsoft might store the users conversations with Bing Chat

Microsoft introduces a new clause, “AI services,” to its Bing Chat terms of service, allowing processing and storage of non-enterprise users inputs. The new policy will go into effect on September 30, 2023. The company says it will be done for the purposes of monitoring and preventing abusive or harmful uses or outcomes of the service.

Google is developing an AI chatbot that could offer life advice

Google is working on an AI that is capable of performing “at least 21 different types of personal and professional tasks, including tools to give users life advice, ideas, planning instructions and tutoring tips”. The company is collaborating with an outside contractor, Scale AI, to help test the personal advice tools.

OpenAI acquired AI design start-up Global Illumination

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but OpenAI has announced that Global Illumination will be involved in the development of core products, including ChatGPT.
