DeepMind claims its next chatbot will surpass ChatGPT

Gemini, a large language model from DeepMind that uses text and is currently under development, is comparable to GPT-4, the engine that drives ChatGPT. DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis said that Gemini system will combine LLM technology with reinforcement learning techniques used in AlphaGo, in order to have new planning and problem-solving capabilities.

Google will replace the Android logo with a 3D version of the robot

The new logo will presumably first appear on the boot screen for all Android devices. Google confirmed the “new brand identity” and said that they will share more about it in the future.

Meta launched a Quest+ subscription for VR headsets

The service costs $8 per month or $60 per year and is available on Quest 2 and Quest Pro. Users will be able to download two curated VR games for free each month. The games can be played as long as the subscription is active.

IBM will acquire Apptio for $4.6 billion

Apptio offers financial and operational IT management and optimization software and has more than 1,500 clients. With this acquisition, IBM will receive access to $450 billion of anonymized IT spend data that Apptio has collected.
