Google launched a new algorithm that makes FIDO encryption safe from quantum computers

FIDO keys are used for passwordless authentication and as a multi-factor authentication element. Google claims that the FIDO2 security key implementation is the first of its kind. The company hopes that this will become a new standard and supported by major web browsers with large user bases.

IBM will use generative AI to translate COBOL code into Java

IBM has unveiled Watsonx Code Assistant for Z, a generative AI-assisted solution that can quickly translate customers’ COBOL code on IBM Z into Java to modernize applications. The Watsonx Code Assistant for Z integrates with IBM’s Application Discovery and Delivery Intelligence tool.
