Meta might introduce ad-free subscription plans for Instagram and Facebook users in Europe

Meta is considering charging users in the EU €13 a month to access an ad-free version of Instagram or Facebook on their phones, or €17 for the desktop apps. This decision comes after a new European Union law requiring Meta to get users’ consent before showing them targeted ads, which affects directly the way groups such as Meta and Google generate their profits.

Users will no longer be able to activate Windows 10 or Windows 11 with old Windows 7 and Windows 8 product keys

Microsoft published a message on the Device Partner Center, notifying customers that the installation path to obtain free upgrades from Windows 7 and 8 to more recent Windows versions is no longer available. Those with Windows 10 can still upgrade to 11 for free, Microsoft said in its announcement.

Google announced that it will integrate the Bard AI chatbot into Google Assistant

The company described the feature as combining Bard’s “generative reasoning” with Assistant’s “personalized help” to provide more contextually aware responses for users. Assistant with Bard will integrate with some of the company’s existing apps, such as Gmail and Docs, to help users find and summarize information.
