Microsoft allegedly pitched DALL-E to the US military
Microsoft proposed the utilisation of OpenAI’s DALL-E in aiding the US Department of Defense to develop software for military operations, accordin to The Intercept. OpenAI said it was not involved in the Microsoft pitch and that it had not sold any tools to the Department of Defense.

Meta has revealed new AI chips that can increase the processing speed
The project was internally called Artemis and one of the goals is to reduce Meta’s dependence on external suppliers like Nvidia for AI chips. Also, according to a Meta blog post, the chip’s architecture is specifically designed to optimize the balance between computing power, memory bandwidth, and memory capacity.

Google will invest $1 billion to build two new subsea cables between the U.S. and Japan
The two subsea cables, Proa and Taihei, will improve connectivity between the U.S., Japan and multiple Pacific island countries and territories. The cables will be built by Japanese company NEC Corp.
