ChatGPT’s new feature, Code Interpreter, introduces a high security risk
Code Interpreter allows Python code execution and file analysis. The code is created and run in a sandbox environment that is unfortunately vulnerable to prompt injection attacks. The attack involves tricking ChatGPT into executing instructions from a third-party URL, leading it to encode uploaded files into a URL-friendly string and send this data to a malicious website.

Attackers could have exploited the flaw, tracked as CVE-2023-23583, to escalate privileges, gain access to sensitive information, or trigger a denial of service state. The platform will soon require disclosures on videos that have been created by AI tools like DALL-E 3, Bing Image Creator, and more. Google claims that this type of content could mislead viewers and “pose a serious risk of egregious harm”.
