OpenAI has announced that the new ChatGPT voice feature is now available to all users
The voice feature is said to be powered by a new text-to-speech model that can generate humanlike voices from text. The company said it worked with professional voice actors to create five voices, while the Whisperer speech recognition model is used to transcribe spoken words into text.

Google Chrome will limit ad-blocker extension starting June 2024
These extensions will automatically be disabled from the browser once Google makes the switch from Manifest V2 to Manifest V3. The manifest version within the context of an extension is a mechanism for restricting certain capabilities to a certain class of extensions. A new manifest version allows Chrome to restrict APIs and features to this new manifest version.

OpenAI rival Anthropic updated its Claude chatbot to process bigger files and improve safety
Users can upload 150,000 words in one prompt, which equals over 500 pages of material, including entire codebases, financial statements or even long literary works such as “The Iliad” or “The Odyssey“. Once the material is scanned, Claude can then summarize the data, perform Q&A sessions, forecast trends, compare and contrast multiple documents, and perform other types of analysis.

Amazon will lay off several hundred employees working in Alexa division
This decision comes as the company intends to “shift” its business priorities and focus more on generative artificial intelligence (AI). Amazon did not disclose the exact number of people impacted, their specific roles within Amazon’s devices business, or which Alexa initiatives were affected.
