Thousands of routers and cameras vulnerable because of two new 0-day vulnerabilities
Cybersecurity researchers from Akamai discovered an active malware campaign that is using two zero-day vulnerabilities with remote code execution functionality to rope routers and video recorders into a Mirai-based distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) botnet. Akamai said it has reported the vulnerabilities to manufacturers, and that one of them has provided assurances security patches will be released next month.

Amazon’s acquisition of iRobot is likely to get approval from the European Union
Reuters wrote that EU regulators will unconditionally approve the $1.4 billion deal, after previously expressing concerns that it could let Amazon restrict competition in the robot vacuum cleaner market. The European Commission is due to decide on the deal by February 14.
