Google generative AI features
Google will integrate generative AI features into Messages app, Maps, Android Auto and more

The new features in Google Messages, launching in beta testing this week, will enable the Gemini chatbot to draft messages, plan events, brainstorm ideas and help with various other tasks directly within the Messages application. Android Auto will also receive generative AI options, like the ability to automatically summarize long texts and group chats while the driver is focused on driving.


Meta and LG will reportedly collaborate on the development of an extended reality (XR) headset

The two companies plan to release the headset in the first half of 2025 and outdo Apple’s latest mixed reality (MR) headset Vision Pro in terms of performance. Mark Zuckerberg will meet with LG CEO Cho Joo-wan to discuss application of LG’s smart device operating system to the XR headset as well as using Meta’s AI services for LG’s home appliances.


Microsoft announced a new partnership with French start-up Mistral AI

Mistral’s large language models will be available on Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform. Through this partnership, the two companies will build applications for governments across Europe and “use the AI models to address public sector-specific needs“. Mistral also released a public test version of its own chatbot, called Le Chat.


Microsoft revealed new AI Access Principles for its services and infrastructure

According to the principles, Microsoft intends to support AI developers, provide suport for “fairness across the AI economy” and strive to “meet our societal responsibilities”. There are 11 principles in total and were described by Brad Smith, Microsoft’s vice chair and president, as being “only a first step”.

Galaxy A55 will have a 6.6-inch AMOLED screen, Exynos 1480 processor, 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage. It will come with a 5,000mAh battery.


OnePlus Ace 3V

The phone will have an OLED screen, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor and up to 16GB of RAM. It will come with a 5500mAh battery.
