A leaked Google database reveals thousands of unreported privacy breaches from 2013 to 2018

The database shows Google’s mismanagement of sensitive data, including incidents like the YouTube Kids app recording children’s voices and saving license plates from Street View. The company confirmed the database’s contents, and it stated that all issues were reviewed and resolved, with some incidents involving third-party services.

Windows 11 AI ‘recall’ screenshotting feature is described by a security expert as ‘one of the most ridiculous security failings I’ve ever seen’

Recall is an AI feature for Copilot+ PCs and offers a history of everything a user has done on the PC, recorded via screenshots that are taken regularly in the background of Windows 11. Security researcher Kevin Beaumont said that he was able to automate a program that provides plain text data of everything a user has viewed, despite Microsoft’s claims that Recall information cannot be exfiltrated remotely.

Instagram confirmed that it’s testing unskippable ads within the app

Meta is testing a new type of non-skippable ad in the Instagram feed, which the company is calling an “ad break”. It will display a countdown timer that stops users from being able to browse through more content on the app until they view the ad.
