Meta and IBM formed the “AI Alliance” to promote “open innovation and open science in AI”
The alliance includes more than 50 organizations like Dell, Sony, AMD, Intel, several universities and scientific agencies. The Alliance says that it plans to “utilize pre-existing collaborations” to “identify opportunities that develop open AI resources that meet the needs of business and society equally and responsibly”.

Microsoft upgraded Copilot with OpenAI’s GPT-4 Turbo and DALL-E 3
GPT-4 Turbo has a 128,000 token context window, allowing it to analyze more data and context to produce higher-quality responses. Microsoft stated that GPT-4 Turbo is currently undergoing testing and will roll out to all Copilot users over the next few weeks. Copilot will also gain new functionality for interpreting and executing code.

Amazon has accused Microsoft of anticompetitive practices in a letter to the United Kingdom’s antitrust authority
Amazon told the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) that Microsoft’s practices prevent customers from switching to rivals. This accusation comes just a week after Google wrote a letter to the UK regulators asking them to look into Microsoft’s practices.

Twitch will shut down its service in Korea on February 27, 2024
The company made this decision because of high operating costs and network fees. Network fees in Korea are 10 times more expensive than in most other countries, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy said, adding that the company spent significant effort working to reduce operating costs to remain in business.
