X is reportedly selling inactive usernames for $50,000

The company is trying to find buyers for user handles it reclaimed from inactive accounts. It seems to be sending out solicitation emails asking for “a flat fee of $50,000 to initiate a purchase”, according to Forbes. X changed its policy this year to stipulate that users must log in every 30 days to remain active, and risk having their accounts suspended or permanently removed if they go long enough without signing on.

Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI launched the chatbot ‘Grok’

Grok functions similarly to ChatGPT, answering questions posed by users based on information generated by a large language model. After an early beta, the chatbot will be released to subscribers of X’s $16 per month Premium+ plan.

Discord file links will expire after 24 hours to block malware delivery

Discord’s safety team believes this decision will help restrict access to flagged content and reduce malware distribution via their content delivery network. The change is expected to go into effect by the end of the year.
