Google pays Samsung an ‘enormous’ amount of money to pre-install Gemini AI on Galaxy devices
A court testimony in the US Department of Justice antitrust trial revealed Google provides Samsung with both fixed monthly payments and a percentage of revenue earned from advertisers within the Gemini app. The exact figures are unknown, but a DOJ lawyer called it an “enormous sum of money in a fixed monthly payment”.

EU introduced labels for smartphones based on energy efficiency and ease of repair
The European Union has announced new mandatory labels for smartphones and tablets which will include information on energy efficiency, durability and repairability. In addition, the devices must meet new “ecodesign” requirements, including the availability of repair parts.

ChatGPT will display summaries, quotes and links to articles from The Washington Post when users prompt the chatbot to search the web. The two organizations did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement.
