Google DeepMind’s new AI model can run directly on robots
Google DeepMind launched a new language model, called Gemini Robotics On-Device, that can run tasks locally on robots without requiring an internet connection. This on-device model is a smaller, more efficient version of the Gemini Robotics system that was first unveiled in March 2025.

Meta will use AI to summarize WhatsApp messages
The feature is called “Message Summaries”, and it uses Meta AI to “privately and quickly” summarize unread messages in a chat. The company is initially launching the feature in the U.S. with English language support, but it plans to “bring it to other languages and countries later this year”.

Google lets Android users put Chrome’s address bar on the bottom
Google’s experiment with moving the address bar in Chrome for Android to the bottom started back in 2016. After an on-off, on-off testing phase, the company reintroduced the feature in 2023, but only for iPhone users. Now it is also available on Android.

Windows will remove the Blue Screen of Death after 40 years
Microsoft is transitioning to a black crash screen which contains a short message that tells users they need to restart. The new black restart screen will be launched this summer on Windows 11 24H2 devices.
