Patronus AI launched Lynx, a model that can detect hallucinations in large language models
Hallucinations occur when LLMs generate responses that are coherent but do not align with factual reality or the input context. Patronus AI reported that Lynx achieved 8.3% higher accuracy than GPT-4 in detecting medical inaccuracies and surpassed GPT-3.5 by 29% across all tasks.

Meta AI created a compact language model for mobile devices
The research team, formed by members of Meta Reality Labs, PyTorch and Meta AI Research (FAIR), focused on optimizing models with fewer than 1 billion parameters. This is a fraction of the size of models like GPT-4, which are estimated to have over a trillion parameters.

Google Maps will add speedometer and speed limits for iOS and CarPlay
When the feature is enabled while navigating in Google Maps, drivers can see their vehicle speed in miles or kilometers, depending on their region. The speed indicator also changes colors if drivers go over the speed limit.
