The European Union adopted a new law on cybersecurity for smart devices
The Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) will apply across products that are connected either directly or indirectly to another device or to a network and will obligate tech manufacturers, importers, and distributors to provide security support and updates. Examples of relevant devices include smart doorbells, baby monitors, alarm systems, routers, mobile apps, speakers, toys, and fitness trackers.

Google has unveiled a new quantum chip
The company said its new quantum chip, named “Willow”, incorporates key “breakthroughs” and “paves the way to a useful, large-scale quantum computer”. Willow can also reduce errors “exponentially” as the number of qubits is scaled up, Google claims.

OpenAI launched ChatGPT Canvas for all users
The feature, first released in beta a few months ago, places responses from the AI chatbot on a shared, editable page. So, users can collaborate with ChatGPT on writing and coding projects. They can also request help writing and editing text or even code within the Canvas page.

YouTube is testing multiplayer mini-games
The multiplayer mini-games as part of the company’s Playables collection that has lightweight, free games users can play instantly right on the platform. Since the launch of Playables, in September 2023, YouTube has been steadily building up its library, now offering over 130 games. At the moment, the multiplayer mode is available only on two games.
