Google Search new feature
Google Search is testing a feature that lets users upload a file and ask questions about it

Reports online suggest that the company could be working on a feature that will allow users to attach a file then search within it, in order to then analyze the document. Users would be prompted to “ask anything about the file” via the regular Google search bar.

The Irish Data Protection Committee fined Meta €251 million for a 2018 Facebook security breach that affected millions of users

In 2018, hackers exploited a bug in Facebook’s “View As” feature. It allowed them to get hold of users’ access tokens and take over some accounts. When Facebook acknowledged this issue, it estimated 50 million accounts were impacted. However, upon investigation, the number was revealed to be closer to 29 million, with around 3 million in Europe.

Google upgraded Code Assist with support for third-party data sources

Code Assist will now be powered by Gemini 2.0, the company’s most advanced large language model, which supports a longer context window. That means it can understand larger code bases than before.
