The EU law mandating universal USB-C chargers for all new devices comes into effect
The Common Charger Directive mandates that all new mobile phones, tablets, digital cameras, handheld video game consoles, e-readers, keyboards, mice and earbuds must include a USB Type-C port. These devices, capable of being charged via a wired cable and using up to 100 watts of power, will need to comply with the new rules, regardless of the manufacturer.
