AI Mode is powered by a Gemini 2.0 model that Google has trained to find and organize information from the web. For now, the AI Mode is just a test. It’s only available to users paying for Google One AI Premium, and even they have to enable it in the Labs section of Search.

ChatGPT can now edit code directly within an integrated development environment, without the need to copy and past. According to OpenAI, IDE integration has been one of the most-requested features from macOS users since the company released its “works with app” framework, in November.

1Password announced a new feature that allows users to view logins, passwords, PINs and more based on location
Users can now assign locations to items stored in the vault, and those items will show up in the 1Password app when they are near those physical locations. The password manager app also offers a map view showing all the locations tied to passwords.

Mistral launched a new optical character recognition (OCR) API for fast document processing
Unlike most OCR APIs, Mistral OCR is a multimodal API, meaning that it can detect when there are illustrations and photos intertwined with blocks of text. Tests show Mistral OCR achieving 94.89% accuracy, compared to Google Document AI at 83.42% and Azure OCR at 89.52%.
