The company claims that developers can now detect and fix hallucinated content in AI outputs in real time, ensuring end-users consistently receive factually accurate AI-generated content. A Microsoft spokesperson said the “correction” system uses “small language models and large language models to align outputs with grounding documents”.

Named “Watermarks”, this feature involves the use of cryptographically signed metadata to offer improved transparency and security in AI-generated content. Microsoft already uses watermarking on its Bing Image Creator AI product.

Gmail will show the blue verified checkmark for senders that have adopted the Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI) standard with a registered trademark (VMC). These blue checkmarks in Gmail for Android and iOS are rolling out “over the next few weeks” to personal Google and Workspace accounts.
