Apple and Meta refused to join EU’s AI Pact

The European Union’s AI Pact is a voluntary agreement aimed at guiding companies on compliance with upcoming legislation on artificial intelligence. The list of companies taking part in the pact includes Adobe, Google, IBM, HP, Qualcomm, Microsoft, and Open AI. According to Politico, Apple and Meta have so far refused to sign it.

Google Messages will add a new feature to filter international spam messages

Google Messages is working on a way to improve user security and help avoid phishing attempts. The app will sort texts based on where they come from. So, unknown messages from international senders will be grouped into a “cross-country” folder.

The company added a new update so that now Gemini 1.5 Pro-powered virtual assistant can handle Google Docs, PDFs, text files, Google Slides, YouTube video URLs, audio files and web pages.

Meta’s AI can now edit photos and ‘talk’ like various celebrities

Meta partnered with John Cena and Judi Dench, as well as actors Kristen Bell, Awkwafina and Keegan-Michael Key, to train the chatbot to replicate their voices. Another new feature will allow users to alter photos by telling the Meta AI what changes they want.
