Microsoft will store all personal data of European cloud customers within EU

The company will keep within what it calls the “EU data boundary” all customer data across the cloud services, like Azure, Microsoft 365, Power Platform and Dynamics 365. Microsoft said that the “decisive” action is one that “respects European values” and aligns more closely with certain requirements for both commercial and public sector cloud customers.


Facebook receives data from thousands other companies for ad targeting

A research conducted on 709 participants found that on average, Facebook received data from 2,230 different companies for each of the volunteers, while some were identified by more than 7,000 companies. An extreme example showed that nearly 48,000 different companies were found in the data of a single participant.


Major security vulnerabilities dicovered in UEFI firmware have an impact on top tech companies

Researchers said the vulnerabilities, collectively named PixieFail, pose significant threats to network security. They potentially allow remote code execution, denial of service attacks, DNS cache poisoning and leakage of sensitive information.


Samsung Galaxy S24’s AI features will only be free until the end of 2025

The Galaxy S24 series comes with a range of AI features, including real-time phone call translations, AI powered notes and more. After the end of 2025 the pricing remains unknown.


Meta announced that it plans to create artificial general intelligence

Meta currently has two teams for AI research. One is the Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) team, started in 2013, and the other is team working on generative AI experiences for users of its apps. Mark Zuckerberg said the company would bring the two “closer together” as it looks to expand both groups.
