FTC fined Avast $16.5 million for selling users’ browsing data to advertisers

The FTC’s investigation states that between 2014 and 2020, Avast antivirus software collected and sold the web browsing information of the users without their knowledge. In addition to the fine, Avast is required to notify affected customers that their data has been sold without their consent.

Apple will reportedly receive a €500 million fine in EU after Spotify’s antitrust complaint

The Financial Times wrote that the European Commission will accuse Apple of abusing its power and will ban its “unfair trading conditions” in regard to its music service subscription policies. The fine is expected to be announced next month.
