OpenAI has launched a bot that will gather information from the web to improve future artificial intelligence models

GPTBot will copy publicly available data for the purpose of training AI models, which the business claims will be done transparently and responsibly. Operators of websites will have to actively opt out and block the bot, if they want to stop it taking data from their site.

A new security vulnerability, called Downfall, can steal encryption keys from computers running on Intel processors

The new bug uses Gather Data Sampling to steal data and other sensitive information from a computer with Intel processors from 2015 through 2019 ranging from sixth gen Skylake through eleventh gen Rocket Lake and Tiger Lake. Intel confirmed the flaw.

X, formerly Twitter, will add video calls to the platform

CEO Linda Yaccarino confirmed that the new feature coming, and said that the plan is to create an “everything app”. Linda said “Soon you’ll be able to make video chat calls without having to give your phone number to anyone on the platform”.

TikTok is making changes for users in the European Union in order to meet the August 28th deadline the region’s authorities gave companies to comply with the Digital Services Act (DSA). The company said that soon users in the region will be able to switch off personalization.

Zoom removed the policy that allowed it to train AI on customer data

The policy, which went into effect on July 27, 2023, stated that Zoom may compile “Service Generated Data” based on the customer content and how the software is used. Now the company has updated its terms of service after widespread backlash, clarifying that it won’t use user content to train artificial intelligence algorithms without consent.
