Meta has launched its next-generation AI model Llama 3 that will power Meta AI
With Llama 3 Meta is attempting to match some of the capabilities currently being offered by rivals such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google in their latest models. A larger version of Llama 3, with more than 400 billion parameters, is still being trained, with the company saying it will make a decision on whether and how to release it following safety testing in the coming months.

Microsoft unveiled VASA-1, a new AI model that turns photos into ‘talking faces’
VASA-1 takes in a single portrait photo and an audio file and converts it into a hyper realistic talking face video complete with lip sync, realistic facial features and head movement. The model is currently only a research project and not available for anyone outside of the Microsoft Research team.
