Germany, France and Italy reached an agreement on how artificial intelligence should be regulated in the future
The three governments are in favor of binding voluntary commitments for both large and small AI providers in the European Union. The French, German and Italian governments were against the European Parliament’s earlier proposal that the code of conduct should only apply to major AI providers in the first instance.

Google DeepMind unveils Lyria, a GenAI model for music creation
The company said the model can generate high-quality vocals, lyrics, and musical backing tracks that mimic the style of popular artists. One of the applications of Lyria is the ‘Dream Track’ experiment on YouTube Shorts. “Dream Track” will let creators generate 30-second songs sung in the voices of various artists.

Bing added AI-generation captions for summarizing webpages
The feature, called Generative AI Captions, uses GPT 4 to “extract the most pertinent insights from web pages, and skillfully transforms them into highly relevant and easily digestible snippets”. Website owners can opt out of having Generative AI Captions created for their site using the NOCACHE or NOARCHIVE tags.
