Intel confirmed that Microsoft’s Copilot AI will soon run locally on PCs

A spokesperson from Intel said the Copilot will begin handling many, but not all, tasks locally using NPUs, reducing its reliance on the cloud. Also, Microsoft is seeking to launch a new “AI PC” and introduce a dedicated Copilot key to the specifications for Windows keyboards.

Amazon invested $2.75 billion in AI startup Anthropic

The company announced an initial $1.25 billion investment in September, and said at the time that Amazon would invest up to $4 billion in total. Amazon will maintain a minority stake in the company and won’t have an Anthropic board seat.

Galaxy AI will be available on 2023 Galaxy devices

Galaxy AI includes features for translating calls and texts, generating summaries of notes and recordings, removing, resizing, and moving subjects in photos. The new features would be bundled in as part of the OneUI 6.1 update.

Amazon was fined in Poland for misleading customers

Poland’s antitrust authority, the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK), has fined Amazon 7.19 million EUR. UOKiK explained that the company had provided false information on the availability and delivery dates of products.
