Samsung announced ‘Galaxy AI’, a generative AI solution for Galaxy smartphones

One of the key features of Galaxy AI is the “AI Live Translate Call”, which will show real-time translations in the form of a chat log during phone calls. The company also demonstrated its generative AI model called Gauss, which consists of three key models: Samsung Gauss Language, Samsung Gauss Code, and Samsung Gauss Image.

Google, Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, Telefónica and Orange sent a letter to the European Commission asking it to designate Apple’s iMessage as a “core platform service”

If iMessage would be considered as “core” service, it would force Apple to make iMessage compatible with RCS like WhatsApp and Google Messages by March 2024. According to the Commission, Apple has previously argued that iMessage isn’t popular enough in the EU to warrant being designated as a core platform service.

Microsoft might bring the AI assistant Copilot to Windows 10

The AI assistant for Windows 11 launched in beta in August and officially in September. Copilot will be able to work with many Windows apps, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, and assist users in changing settings, scheduling meetings, summarizing text, and more.

WhatsApp will hide the IP address during calls for added security

When activated, calls will be relayed through Meta / WhatsApp servers, thus concealing the true IP address. WhatsApp will also add another new privacy feature which allows users to silence unknown callers.
