Google will make multi-factor authentication mandatory on all Cloud accounts by the end of 2025
The change will unfold through three phases to ease the transition for impacted users. Starting this month, users who are not using MFA on their accounts will be encouraged to do so via a reminder on the console screen. According to Google, this concerns roughly 30% of Cloud users.

Google has accidentally revealed an AI model capable of taking over a user’s computer
The company posted an internal preview of the product, codenamed Jarvis, on the Chrome extension store but removed it before too many users noticed. Jarvis apparently resembles a feature recently added to Anthropic’s Claude LLM that takes over the computer’s cursor and performs mundane, tedious tasks. In this case, those will be things like making reservations and buying groceries.

WhatsApp beta added reverse image search
The new feature will give users the option to send a recieved image through a reverse image Google Search. Currently, it is available in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android and is accessible to select users for testing.

OpenAI bought the web domain Chat.com
HubSpot founder and CTO Dharmesh Shah purchased chat.com for $15.5 million in early 2023. Shah sold the domain to OpenAI for an undisclosed amount, though he confirmed on X that he received payment in company shares by revealing he is “now an investor in OpenAI”.
