Microsoft is using AI to create the world’s first 3D replica of St. Peter’s Basilica
The La Basilica di San Pietro project is a collaboration between the Vatican, Iconem (a startup specializing in the digitalization of cultural heritage sites), and Microsoft. It allows unprecedented access to the Vatican City’s most famous church. Visitors will have access to two AI-enabled immersive exhibits of the Basilica and an interactive website.

OpenAI announced that the new ChatGPT app for Windows is now available for all users
The Windows ChatGPT app can take screenshots, giving users a way yo quickly ask questions, in addition to the normal upload photo function. Users can also customize a hotkey to trigger the companion window.

Qwant and Ecosia will collaborate to build a European search index
The companies agreed a joint venture, called the European Search Perspective, which they plan to launch in France initially in the first quarter of 2025. The aim is to build European digital sovereignty and use the platform to provide a foundation for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

Pixel phones will have a real-time malware detection feature
The live threat detection looks for malicious apps on the Android device by analyzing apps’ activity patterns. Google says that at launch, the feature will be focusing on “stalkerware,” a type of malware that scrapes the personal and sensitive data without a users’ knowledge or consent.
